Psalm 30 was written by David after he was accepted as king over all Israel and upon the completion of his palace. It is a psalm of both praise and confession. One of the most intriguing aspects of David’s reign as king is his open confession of weakness, fears, and personal sin. This psalm is an excellent example of this. He understands that before God all men are equal, and the true purpose of his life was to glorify the God that saved him.
