A. An expression of praise
B. An expression of gratitude

II. David rehearses all God’s blessings. (3-7)

A. God gave him the kingdom.
B. God gave him life.
C. God gave him splendor and majesty.
D. God gave him His presence.
E. God gave him stability.

III. David rests in God’s defense. (8-13)

A. God will identify the enemy.
B. God will defeat the enemy.
C. God will be praised.

Psalm 21 logically follows Psalm 20. The victory prayed for in Psalm 20 has been accomplished, and now in Psalm 21, David expresses his gratitude and praise to God. We would do well to remember the pattern of these two Psalms in our own lives. We often pray and ask God for His deliverance and help in times of trouble. Let us also set aside time to publicly express our gratitude and give God the glory.
